Raffle & $ROL
On February 14th (happy belated Valentine’s Day ❤️), just a week after the Blockstars mint, we introduced our gameplay token, $ROL, and started the “airdrip” to holders, 30 $ROL every 30 minutes (no need to stake your Blockstars — we hope others in the web3 space follow our lead on this initiative!).
The goal of the airdrip was to get the in-game currency into the wallets of Blockstars owners, to kickstart the game economy, and of course to reward holders of Blockstars. We minted 1 billion $ROL, which was designed to provide the appropriate amount of currency to all holders for when our first gameplay features, Practicing & Busking, launch. We announced at the time that the airdrip would end when the features launch — as we’ve outlined in our whitepaper, the team is committed to ensuring that the $ROL economy has strong anti-inflationary measures built in.
We are now very close to releasing Practicing & Busking, and are happy to announce that the 1 billion $ROL is mostly distributed, in accordance with the original timeline. So we will be ending the airdrip effective today, which will mean that your Blockstars will stop earning $ROL just by virtue of being in your wallets. We are very confident that the in-game economy is in an excellent place, and that every holder of a Blockstar is well-positioned to play the game, their way.

Yup, you know us, and that is definitely not the extent of this announcement! We like to under-promise and over-deliver, and our message today is in that vein. Our second announcement today introduces a brand-new utility for $ROL.
The $ROL Raffle
In the run-up to the launch of Practicing & Busking, we wanted to give Blockstars holders an additional utility for $ROL, and we are therefore launching a raffle, to be held over a 2-week timeframe, during which holders of $ROL can purchase raffle tickets for 10,000 $ROL each*. The raffle includes more than 200 $SOL worth of prizes (at floor price), including the following beauties:
In the prize pool we have a collection of some of the finest blue chip Solana NFT projects out there, including a Degen Ape (FP 70 $SOL or USD$7,000 at time of writing), a Catalina Whale (FP 60 $SOL), a Blocksmith (FP 31 $SOL), a Solana Money Boy (FP 17 $SOL), a Galactic Gecko (FP 10 $SOL), a Degen Trash Panda (FP 6 $SOL), a Pesky Penguin (FP 5 $SOL), a Lotus Gang (FP 3 $SOL), a Drippie (FP 2 $SOL) and, of course, a rare Origin Blockstar (the Oracle predicts a value of 12 $SOL).
As many of you know, only 110 Origin Blockstars were minted and distributed to our earliest supporters in December 2021, and very few have come up for sale since then, so this is your chance to pick one up!
You will be able to buy as many raffle tickets as you want, but there will be a limit of one win per person — so there will be 10 separate winners for the 10 different prizes.
And here’s the final kicker — a % of all $ROL that is spent on raffle tickets will be airdropped back to holders of Blockstars right before the raffle date, allowing you to buy even more tickets! The more $ROL you as a community spend, the more will be returned. But just like with the airdrip, this $ROL will only be airdropped to holders of Blockstars that aren’t listed for sale on a secondary marketplace. So be smart — don’t list your Blockstar for sale… and maybe go out there and buy some (more) on Magic Eden!

That’s Great, Moar?
Yes, there is more, we have one more big announcement to make! We are pleased to announce that our good friends and partners at Merit Circle DAO (one of the top gaming guilds / DAOs in the P2E / P&E space and an early supporter of Blockstars) have set up a Liquidity Pool (LP) on Raydium, offering a $ROL for $SOL swap. This is a huge vote of confidence on their part in the Blockstars game and economy, and now allows holders of $ROL to very directly contribute to the future success of Blockstars. Holders can now add to the LP (by providing liquidity on both the $SOL side and the $ROL side), purchase $ROL directly for $SOL at a market-set price, or cash out some of their $ROL in exchange for $SOL — this is a really big deal, and one of the major steps towards establishing a thriving “Play-and-Earn” game with a robust economy.
tl;dr
We are announcing 3 separate but related initiatives, as we get ever closer to launching our first gameplay features, Practicing & Busking:
- The $ROL airdrip is ending, effective Wednesday, April 27th. Going forward, $ROL can be earned through gameplay, or purchased on third-party exchanges (either a P2P market like Famous Fox, or a DEX like Raydium).
- $ROL now has additional utility, and can be used to participate in a big raffle with over +200 $SOL of prizes.
- Our partners at Merit Circle DAO are launching an LP on Raydium offering $ROL for $SOL swaps.
